Every family has that one recipe — the one written in a grandmother's looping hand, spattered with decades of Sunday gravy. These cards are more than instructions; they're memory you can taste.
Start by gathering everything in one place. Photograph handwritten cards before they fade, and type them up exactly as written, quirks and all ('a knob of butter', 'bake till it smells right').
Add the story behind each dish: who made it, when it appeared on the table, the birthday it celebrated. A recipe with a story gets cooked; a recipe without one gets forgotten.
Finally, keep it somewhere everyone can reach. That's exactly why we built Hearth & Twine — a warm digital journal where recipes, notes and photos live together, ready to print or pass down.
